The Huna Warrior

Kat Romero, a newly appointed high school vice-principal in California, begins a journey of self-discovery into the world of the Hawaiian kahuna when she befriends a Hawaiian student. The kahuna are experts in the ancient tradition of Huna, able to safely walk on hot lava, heal broken bones instantly, and even pray an enemy to death. When a renegade kahuna in Maui suddenly starts killing off the surviving kahuna in the world and targets Kat as his foremost enemy, she evolves into her destined role as the Huna Warrior, the chosen one who appears every three hundred years to defend the ancient magic from corruption and denigration. Kat uses all of her newfound powers to protect herself, her students, and her family from the deadly magic sent her way.
