About This Book

Minerva Stewart, a bright young architect, arrives in Pennsylvania in the late 1800's to begin work on a summer home commissioned by mining engineer William Tyndall and his family. Once there, it becomes clear to Minerva that some in this small town do not agree with her competence or even her place in a "man's" profession. Yet Minerva finds comfort in her growing friendship with Jon Boswell, the town's handsome young doctor. As work on the home commences, so do strange incidents; an accident in the mines, the destruction of Minerva's designs, the disappearance of Boswell's mother. When the house is set afire one night, Minerva rushes to the sight—there to meet her stalker.
