The House of the Golden Dogs

The beautiful Canary Islands seemed incredibly romantic and exciting to young American Lisa Borgman. At first she was amused by the ancient statues of snarling dogs that guarded the gates of the luxurious villa where she was to stay. Now she wished they could spring to life and keep her safe from the danger that seemed to lurk everywhere. Welcoming Lisa was a handsome young man who was being driven to madness by the ghost of a dead girl. Another man offered to protect Lisa, but she could not conquer her suspicions about his secret past. Servants whispered warnings to her, a frightened child clung to her for safety. The net of danger drew tighter -- and it was up to Lisa alone to solve the mystery of an ancient curse, or become its newest victim.
