He therefore hesitates with agreeing to go along.A few days later however Michael surrenders to the idea of Tina not only keeping her role as his mentor the following years, but he also proposes to her almost as soon as they have gone to sea. Tina accepts his proposal, but insists that they have to wait until Michael finds his own place. Both Tina and Jill want Michael to become a strong, fit, resourceful and smart young man. They also want him to be led by them. The two scheming and attractive older women promise Michael much in terms of both pleasure and of guidance. They also demand much of him in return.
