English Society was not best pleased with Miss Vivian Spalding or her outspoken American ways.

Mr. Lucian Reed, "the supreme arbiter of fashion" was to become the initial object of Miss Spalding's displeasure with the ton. He felt obliged as an English gentleman to disabuse her of this nacky notion.

In so doing, Lucian found himself in one bumblebath after another, and Vivian was forced to revise her opinion of him. He had proven he was more than a "fashionable fribble." But how much more, Vivian dared not find out.
