It had happened at last--the big break every actress dreams of. Kimberly Andrews, understudy to the lead in a hit Broadway play, is an overnight sensation when she takes over the role on a moment's notice. But her triumph turns to ashes when her lover, Mark, himself a Broadway star, goes on the road with his own show accompanied by his beautiful leading lady.

Bewildered and heartbroken by Mark's inexplicable rejection of her Kimberly is faced with an agonizing decision--to pursue her career in New York City, or to attempt a reconciliation with Mark. When an opportunity arises for her to join the road company of Mark's play, she decides to accept, determined to fight for the man she loves, and to win him back no matter what the cost.
