The law firm of Rodan Associates specialized in investigatory work rather than in more mundane matters such as marital and divorce cases. In order to unravel the mystery of the illicit goings-on at Haunted Hammock, it needed to send to the scene an operative who could pose as a naive and innocent tourist. This ruled out its regular investigators and resulted in the draft of a young blonde secretary, Leslie Stanton, whose appealing vulnerability made her ideal for the job--if she could only manage to protect herself until she had completed the assignment.
