Douglas Parker, a forty-two-year old school teacher, is in a rut. His wife and his three daughters regard him as just someone who pays the bills. When he thinks that his life cannot get any worse, he is accused of a crime he did not commit. An offer of help comes from an unexpected direction, but will it be enough to save him from prison? Yvonne Berrow, a twenty-three-year old, single mother of a six-year-old girl, is at a crossroads in her life. She is homeless and destitute and would not have believed that the decision to go to a funeral, would change her life forever.
