In the wake of a failed military coup by a cadre of senior Soviet officers against Joseph Stalin in 1942, a British Intelligence agent is abandoned in Moscow by the Churchill government, which must deny any connection to the conspiracy. The agent, Antony Ryder, is now on his own in a scenario based on certain actual events in the USSR during World War II.
