About This Book

In the late eighteen hundreds, five completely honest, upstanding and law-abiding citizens set about adding a little excitement to their rather mundane lives. What could be more exciting than robbing a train in the middle of the New Mexico desert? In addition, each would take a share of the fifty-thousand dollars in gold traveling in the mail car. To rob a train, one must first stop a train. What better way to stop a train than to create a rockslide blocking the tracks?Neither of the five are geniuses. Some more or less blessed than others. Nonetheless, they determine the best way to create a rockslide is with the use of dynamite. The use of a fuse to enact a critically timed explosion is not the ideal method, but what the heck, that's all they got. The result of this ingenious machination is nothing short of total carnage. Although they manage to confiscate, as well as to hide, the valuable cargo, loose lips begin to unravel this scheme. The ensuing investigation, along with the evasion of discovery, soon brings abysmal havoc to the small New Mexico town. Slowly, but surely, this not only brings about the destruction of the perpetrators, but those trying to bring them to justice. The killing and bloodshed will spill across the border and into Mexico. However, the resolve of one very unlikely man will eventually bring closure to this atrocious event.
