About This Book

After a stint as a pilot, Columbus, Ohio-born Thomas Parker used his G.I. Bill to get a BA degree at Ashland College. While a newspaper reporter, he wrote and directed plays produced in saloons in Colorado cattle country. "Disapproving cowboy audiences threw bottles and attacked cast and playwright. It was the best training I ever found for writing and fighting dirty." Parker left for Central Mexico to research and write about Mexican Revolution hero Pancho Villa and stayed on in the artist colony of San Miguel de Allende. "The comfortable, easy, inexpensive lifestyle in a gloriously beautiful Colonial city was irresistible, perfectly suiting a writer. A major part of the appeal was those living on their own terms there, the artists, in-between-jobs showgirls, divorced trophy wives, and actresses." Parker's journalism, much of it about flying, and dozens of his short stories has been widely published in magazines and reviews. "The Good Daughter Five Short Tales" and "Blue Elephants Four Short Novels are available through Amazon Books. After the drug cartels took over Mexico, Parker spent extended periods in the Greek Islands, Italy, France, and Scandinavia, then moved to Denver, where he lives now.
