The Golden Madonna

Fact and fiction skillfully woven together in a tale of greed, betrayal and revenge. On July 29th, 1715, the ill-fated Spanish treasure fleet of King Philip V left Cuba and sailed into history. While navigating the Florida Straits, the armada was struck by a violent hurricane. All eleven galleons were destroyed. Millions in gold, silver and jewelry were scattered on the reefs and sands off the Florida coast. More than 700 people perished in one of the worst sea disaster of all time. Over the years treasure salvagers swapped tales of sunken fortunes. Veiled in myth, one story dealt with a life-sized gold statue of a Madonna and Christ Child. Ex FBI agent Frank Fernandez is called upon to investigate the merciless murder of two treasure hunters who were searching for the Golden Madonna
