Lately Katie feels her whole life is one long series of disasters. Her dopey cousin Mel's carelessness caused a scary kitchen fire. No one was hurt, but now half the house is a blackened shell. Uncle Jeff's not sure he paid the fire insurance, and worrying about how to pay for the repairs is literally making him sick. If only I had a million dollars, Katie thinks, everything would be different. Then she meets a strange old woman in the mysterious Pine Manor woods. "Help me find my golden treasure," she begs Katie. "I'll share my gold with you." Could there really be buried treasure in the woods? And can Katie find it in time to help her family?
