The Ghost Dancers

THEY CALLED HIM SUNDANCE ...
the big man with the hard face of a Cheyenne and a mane of yellow hair. He'd ranged the West from Canada to Mexico, taken men apart with weapons both primitive and civilized to get a square deal for the tribes. Now he wanted to settle down, have peace, run a ranch. But times were hard and the Indians were starving. A man named Fain was selling the Sioux bad beef and a man named Wovoka was selling them a dream, a dream of Ghost Dancers and a final, miraculous victory over the white men. The Sioux were hungry and desperate enough to kill all whites . . . unless Sundance could stop the massacre.
