About This Book
Elfrida Goto joined the Space Corps to have adventures and see the solar system. Mostly, what she sees is the inside of a cubicle. But that changes when Elfrida is tapped to liaise with the reclusive space colonists of an asteroid the UN has targeted for terraforming: 11073 Galapagos.
Horrified by the siege mentality she finds, Elfrida recommends that the colonists be evicted and resettled. But her assistant--an artificial intelligence that may be smarter than it appears--sides with the colonists.
Amid her struggle to forge a rapport with the colonists, Elfrida grows closer to her boss, the charismatic but intensely private Glory dos Santos. When a sneak attack destroys their home base, Glory saves her life. The attack thrusts them onto the front lines of the war in space that has convulsed the solar system for the last hundred years. Now, the asteroid 11073 Galapagos is a target. And so is Elfrida.See the solar system, try to help people, and get nuked
Teaming up with a devil-may-care wannabe Star Force pilot, Elfrida makes a desperate gamble to save the colonists. But her plans go wrong. Now she's hurtling towards a confrontation with the most dangerous enemy humanity has ever known.
She never asked for an adventure like this ...Set in the year 2285, The Galapagos Incident kicks off a new space opera series.
Humanity has colonized the solar system. The UN is terraforming Venus. Homesteaders exploit the resources of the asteroid belt, while the Space Corps plays catch-up. But on Mars, the failures of an earlier era have come back to haunt civilization with a sadistically targeted war in space. Not only the colonies but Earth itself is under threat. And all that stands between humanity and the enemy is the Space Corps ...
