The Fusion Spheres

Short story, Fiction, Burt and Mary Nelson have decided to take a vacation, and visit their good friends the Laurence in South Carolina. While there, they are told that a few days ago, a meteor swarm had hit a nearby mountain area. Burt together with Bill Laurence decide to scavenge the hills and see if they can find any meteorites. It turns out that what they find is a secret weapon tested by the government. With a lot of moving backwards and forwards, they get involved in this government testing. One silent partner of this government is loosing his extra job, and decides to get back on them. He had stolen some secret documents while he had been asked to make some copies for his boss. This infuriates this silent partner, and he decide to sell the information he has to a foreign agent. That is when everything starts to happen.
