The Fortunes of Love

Trying to duck slings and arrows lest outrageous fortune be her undoing, lottery-winner Barbara Fairfax hides in the back of an old pick-up truck. Soon she finds herself miles away from Dallas with no way to get home. Vance Jagger, the truck's handsome owner, refuses to drive her back. As a partner in a struggling ranch, he cannot spare the time. If he and his partner can't find a backer soon, they will lose the ranch. The beautiful stowaway provides a distraction that Vance doesn't need. For her part, Barbara falls in love with the proud, independent rancher, and she fears how he will react to her wealth. Somehow Barbara must find a way to convince him to accept her help, because winning the lottery shouldn't mean losing a chance for love.
