The Fire Ruby

In Guinea, West Africa, pirates have raided a small settlement, brutally slaughtering women and children, destroying everything in their path. Young Zeek survives the attack, but is captured, sold into slavery and taken on board the Charlotte. On board the same ship is a beautiful countess who has stolen a priceless gem and fled from a husband she cannot abide, leaving behind a life of riches and luxury. Jeanette is hoping to return to Martinique, to the only man she has ever truly loved and bargain for his life with the priceless jewels. These two very different people are thrown together and their lives are changed forever when disaster strikes the Charlotte and the precious Fire Ruby is lost at sea.
