The Fight for the Mountain

In the week after the marriage, Lillian Cline Barrington discovers that she has married the most dangerous lips ever given to manhood. And they are in constant pursuit of hers except when interrupted by the happenings of life. So far nothing seemed to go right - not since she had met him last April, in fact. Lil referred to her state of constant surprises as Lillian's Law of Probabilities in honor of Murphy's Law. Her ability to attract disaster continues as Lil quickly finds herself having some trouble in that marriage and for that marriage. One unwelcome visitor to the cabin informs her that Russell filed for divorce in his past. Then, while attempting to entertain the other two visitors in the meadow where the dogs attacked her, Lil becomes unconscious on the mountain. The visit sets off a chain of events in which Lil figures out why the visitors had come to the cabin. And the threat to Russell and Batsy, the predators two-legged and after the millions in Russell's Foundation. As a newly married couple, they face the rigors of having Russell's thirty-two year old son, Batsy, at home with them, serious illness for Russell, and the attempted kidnapping of Lil. Not to mention the Sneaky Russell uses on her during a deadly snowstorm on the mountain. Their love deepens through the struggles while Lillian works to overcome the fears left from her forty years of an abusive marriage. Especially, her fear of Russell's Gorgeous...
