In Norse mythology it is believed that the god Odin is accompanied by two ravens. Representing his thought and memory, the ravens fly off into the world and eventually return with news of the day’s events. Even though these two birds are part of a forgotten lore, is it possible that they still exist and can take human form? If so, could they affect the thoughts and memories of the people they come into contact with?
Brecca, a nurse in the emergency department, is about to find out. Although her shift is only a few hours old, the stress is already mounting. It’s about to become even worse when the paramedics wheel a drunken frat boy, Bryke, into one of her rooms. Bryke’s intoxication only enhances his inflated sense of self-importance and it relentlessly pulls Brecca into the ongoing mayhem of the evening.
Her night will become even more troublesome when two unusual patients are placed under her care. One is a burly biker with long, jet-black hair. His pounding headache somehow rubs off on Brecca and forces her to confront the person she has become. The other patient is a well-dressed businessman with an unusual lump on his head. The injury has messed with his recollection of the night’s events, but it somehow causes Brecca to uncover several buried memories from her past.
Unbeknownst to Brecca, the drunken student is undergoing a similar crisis. By night’s end a link could be exposed, connecting Brecca to Bryke. A link that may explain why Brecca was abused by her mother following her father’s death. A link that could potentially set Brecca’s life on a new path and Bryke’s into one of impending doom.
