Curtin, really digs into the unpopular social dilemma in this novel, The Family Matter, where he masterfully tells the fictional account of the conflicts that emerge in both the public and private arenas when God begins to move to solve a growing societal problem. This true-to-life story embraces the critical need to recognize the requirements of the growing community of the homeless in our country. The conflict and resolution surrounds the pastor's wife who is adamantly opposed to such an approach since it clashes with her own personal agenda. This novel brings attention to the attitude most people have toward the homeless and how this mind set can be changed so that the Church can minister to this vital part of humanity.
