About This Book

A retrospect as told by a U.S. Senator about to be nominated to run for President, this story is about his family history going back to the Great Depression in 1932. Transcending four generations, it begins with two unrelated Jewish immigrant families that settled in separate ghettos in New York City. It’s a story of good vs. evil, honor, responsibility, humility, deep faith, and evil beyond imagination. The main characters include three young brothers, one of which is the father of the Senator, homeless and living on the streets of Manhattan’s Lower East Side, and a young girl from a father-deserting family, and the two boys-turned-killers she grew up with in the very tough Brownsville section of Brooklyn. And, of course, there’s the Senator, born to parents who should have never married.
