The Exquisite Corpse

The Exquisite Corpse is a paranormal mystery science fiction ghost story. A physician, Nathaniel Whetstone, studying 'night terrors' finds he is dead and trapped within a parallel dimension, called phase-space. Phase-space touches the solid world at every point yet the boundary between the separate universes seems impermeable. Phase-space is a realm barren of anything but lost souls; once people, as Nathaniel was, Mithrians; vampiric creatures that consume life-force from sleeping humans, causing night-terrors, and a monk-like order of Reapers; who maintain the flow of life-force in phase-space and here in the solid world. Nathaniel's medical research is about to uncover the existence of phase-space and he is murdered to avoid this disclosure. As he learns how to navigate through the strange alternate universe of phase-space, a timeless universe composed mostly of thoughts, he manages to communicate with his teenage son. Together, they must solve the mystery of his murder and, somehow regain his normal life.
