The Expediter

A Chinese general has been murdered by assassins wearing the uniforms of North Korean police officers. Though Kim Jong II denies any knowledge of the shooting, the Chinese prepare to attack. In response, the Korean dictator vows to plunge the entire region into nuclear war.

A colonel in North Korea's intelligence service arrives at Kirk McGarvey's door, asking him to prove that North Korea did not authorize the hit. McGarvey is quickly swept into a dangerous shadow world where almost nothing is as it seems. Clues lead him first to Pyongyang, where he finds a far-reaching plot so monstrous the entire world could go up in flames, and finally back to the one nation that would profit the most from such a war.
