The Exiles

The streets and homes of nineteenth century New Orleans, both rich and poor, come alive in The Exiles. This first novel in The Creoles Series is a rich tapestry of characters and brilliant descriptions of trials and triumphs in the lives of four girls who meet at the Ursuline Convent School and declare themselves to be the "Four Musketeers--one for all and all for one."

The Exiles focuses on the life of one of the four young women: the red-haired, head strong Chantel Fontaine. As a young girl, Chantel faced overwhelming tragedy, and now the realization of who the mysterious child on the street might be sends Chantel on a perilous journey through her own heart and through the dangerous wiles deep in the Louisiana swamplands.
