About This Book

Two brothers, who are both butlers to two Spanish Counts (who are also brothers), one of which lives in Spain and the other in Mexico. The Spanish Count’s wife had died and left him with two children. A girl of five and her brother, two years younger. The brother of this Count who was childless asks to help bring up the little boy. A newly employed children’s nurse was going to take him to Mexico. Now one butler had an extramarital boy of the same age. By manipulation they managed to exchange the little boys on the journey. It was a scheme of the two butlers to acquire millions and two palaces, as well as making the false heir a Count. When the Count in Spain needed surgery, the butler hired three Spanish doctors to end the Count’s life via this operation. Doctor Stenton, an Englishman, together with the Count’s daughter, Condesa Rosetta, thwarted their attempt, thereby putting his own life in danger. The other Count in Mexico had already been doped, declared dead and sold by the pirate Ramirez Danlola, as a slave to Africa. The unravelling of the plot takes the heroes to Mexico, Africa, an unmapped island, Spain and England.
