The Evil Stepsister

Kyle Cowper, wildlife biologist, is alone in the field checking out potential habitat of endangered species for a client eager to drill for coalbed-methane gas. Returning to her campsite, Kyle discovers her truck wrecked and bullets slamming into her camper shell.
Who is out to do Kyle harm? An irate former client? Or her stepsister?
Kyle has just inherited twelve prime acres out of Jackson Hole, ideal for achieving her lifetime dream of creating a wildlife refuge. However, Kyle's stepsister, Tangerine, who specializes in rural real estate, is dead set on wresting the property from Kyle. Tangerine has attracted the interest of Reno developers with connections to the mob. Appraised at over sixty million, the sale of the land will net Tangerine a hefty commission, enough to set her up in Jackson society and allow her and her mom to live in cushy comfort. A sub-plot finds Kyle determined to discover how her mom died, but her dad isn't talking. Turns out, Kyle's mother was herself a stepsister.
Known as Batty Bob in the wildlife and environmentalist community for his crusade to save Wyoming's water, Uncle Bob ceases to bathe and seeks to persuade fellow citizens to do likewise; when he isn't helping Tangerine with her vicious pranks. Kyle's husband is no help, he's a computer geek engrossed in designing software to help diagnose cancer. Kyle must also shield Taffy, Tangerine's daughter, whom Kyle loves.
