Working incognito on a stake-out of a downtown bank in New York, Ethan Warner and Nicola Lopez are horrified when a violent chase results in the deaths of a supporting officer's family. Later that night, the grieving man tries to take his life. He is rescued by paramedics, but only after he has been clinically dead for several moments. In a deserted warehouse, two thieves are found dead in inexplicable circumstances. No trace can be found of their killer, and forensics reveals that one man was torn apart from the inside, while the other victim's heart was crushed while still in his chest. A masked figure is seen dashing from the warehouse with extraordinary speed and agility. Their deaths are not the last, and Ethan is beginning to suspect there is no normal explanation for these killings - but can he accept that what he is dealing with could be paranormal? And who is the masked figure who keeps appearing?
