The Drowning Man

An ancient petroglyph depicting a human figure struggling under water, "The Drowning Man" is worth a quarter of a million dollars to the thieves who took it--but is priceless to the Arapahos, who believe it was carved by spirits.

The theft is nearly identical to an unsolved seven-year-old case involving another stolen petroglyph--and manslaughter. The two robbery suspects, Travis Birdsong and Raymond Trueblood, had a falling out resulting in Raymond's death--supposedly at Travis's hands.

Convinced Travis had nothing to do with either theft, or with killing Raymond, Arapaho attorney Vicky Holden joins Father John to piece together the events of the past seven years. But their quest will put them in the path of a relentless killer who will stop at nothing to remain unknown...
