Joey, the young dragon, has been to the Sahara Deserts, put her toes in hot sand and discovered that the dragons are disappearing. Grogan, her friend, points out that their Clan has shrunk by a bunch. So she discovered with Ikfreit, of the frozen Iceland country. She did not like snow. But his clan, too, had so many missing. She learned a great deal about geography, the animals that can cause trouble for dragons and yes, the discovery that people, too, could be a problem. And now, another dragon appears. He, too, seems to know the problem and this leads them on a quest to South America, almost to the tip of the Andes. An Old One, sitting on top of the Alps gives her clues.
