The Door Keeper

After arriving home to participate in his country's most important national holiday, and to rest after two grueling years as a field commander, a young war hero was faced with a dilemma; would he choose to become the leader his father, the king, intends by tempering his ferocity in battle with fairness and sound judgment, or would he allow his strong desire for revenge go unchecked in response to an atrocious massacre and the murder of his best friend? The hero struggles to reconcile his growing popularity among the masses with loyalty to his less popular father. He is slowly and inevitably pulled into a crucible of political intrigue which threatens his father's reign and his own future.
