The Doctor Had a Double

Dr Simon Britten has the surprise of his life when a beautiful girl smacks his cheek in a restaurant. He has never seen her before but she tells him he is her fiancé. His secretary, Cherry Corfield, deftly rescues him from an embarrassing scene but it merely proves what Simon has already said: that somewhere in Amsterdam he has a double. Eventually the double turns out to be his twin brother, Shawn, whom Simon has never before heard of. Simon is frequently mistaken for Shawn, sometimes with unpleasant results and Shawn seems to change Simon's life completely, to destroy his love affair as well as ruin his reputation. How can Simon find a solution?
