"Revenge will destroy both the subject and the perpetrator. Absolutely nothing good can come out of it," Dr. Chatchai Ratanopol said when he talked to a group of Thai teens in Sangkhlaburi which had fought a series of rumbles against a group of teenagers from the Mon village.

The leader of the Thai group was Atichai Ayanud. He was the younger brother of Dr. Ratanopol's high school friend Galaxy Ayanud.

The Thais would not help in the rebuilding project until the fighting stopped, and the Thais and Mon groups were at peace with each other.
