The Disappearance of Vera Dressler

Vera Dressler is a wealthy widow who moves from Vancouver, Washington, to a remote ski resort town in Seton Portage, British Columbia, Canada, to fulfill a dream she has long harbored. What she doesn't expect is that her move unlocks memories of a secret she has carried around with her for years. A secret not even her children or late husband knew. Vera is unaware that this secret is about to haunt her in the worst way when the child she gave up for adoption kidnaps her; she is taken to the woods and left for dead. A lover of nature, Vera knows her way around the woods. Although injured, cold and tired she must use her skills to survive the elements around her such as grizzly bears, cougars and wolves. She learns a lot about her own indomitable spirit as she makes her way back to any hiking trail or road in search of help. Vera's self-discovery as she comes to grips with the fact that the newborn she gave up so long ago now hates her enough to want her dead.
