At the age of eighteen, Barbara Cavendish Stewart comes to London determined to make a name for herself in the theater. Very soon, to her surprise, she succeeds in her ambition and becomes a headline success story. Within a few years, she has achieved everything she has hoped for, and finds that she is still missing the simplicity and sincerity of her childhood home.
