The Desk

Set in modern day, but with haunting flashbacks to the mid-1900s, The Desk is a film-noir of a novel whose heroine, Jeagan Christensen, is forced by visions to become one gutsy gal in quest of answers. A desk, which comes into her possession as an antique, also brings with it the antiquity of an unrequited murder. It is the murder of an innocent, as Jeagan discovers in her quest, that was covered up to retain the honor of a class-conscious family. Against odds, which would daunt even the seasoned professional, Jeagan rushes forth oblivious to her amateur stature to put meat on the bones of an old skeleton that refuses to remain in the closet.
