About This Book

A week later on that fatal Thursday night McCann and I went to Trail's End Saloon with Mike sitting at a corner, faro-table where five of Tyler's friends spot him. Carl Ames pulls out his pistol and fires point blank, and McCann drops dead on the floor. Ames sends another shot into McCann's back, which enrages me. I at only sixteen pull my Colt forty-four and with a wild shot hit Ames best friend James Orr. Orr runs across the street to the porch of a mercantile store, where he collapses and dies. I fire rapidly hitting five more people. Ames takes bullets in the leg and thigh, but lives. Cowboy Hank Tittle is hit in the chest and dies. Thomas Kellogg survives a shot in the leg. Texan Harry Middleton dies with a shoulder wound. I pick up Mike's pistol and shoot Santa Fe railroad brakeman Adam Weston who was pulling his pistol. He dies with a shot in his stomach. They call me, 'The Death Dealer'.
