About This Book

The author is a veteran of 28 years in the U.S. Army, his career having spanned the period from World War II through the end of the Vietnam conflict. He rose through the ranks from private to Lieutenant Colonel. Oglesby served in Airborne, Special Forces and Special Operations, and was a battalion commander in Vietnam. His exemplary service brought him a number of awards, including a Silver Star, Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, seven Bronze Stars and numerous Army and Air Force Commendation Medals along with the Purple Heart. Colonel Oglesby and his wife Grace each have grown sons. They now live in retirement in Brandon, Florida, where he spends his time writing and fishing.
