About This Book

Young and emboldened by feeling of first time love, Anne and her fiancé Jeremy paid little heed to the superstitious villagers who told them that the beautiful farmhouse nestled halfway up the picturesque hillside was cursed. Ignoring the warnings of the locals, the young couple moved into the farmhouse shortly after being married. And for a short while, they were quite happy there. However as it did for most people in Europe, the outbreak of World War II dramatically changed things for Jeremy and Anne. Eventually Jeremy would be sent to fight and killed in action, although not before fathering a son to Anne. With his father gone, young Tom soon grew into a man and took over running the farm himself once he was old enough. Eventually Tom married Kate, the daughter of one of the farmhands, and for a time, they too were happy on the farm. But their happiness would also be short-lived, as The Curse of a Morton Farmhouse would soon resurface. Will Tom and Kate's brother Chris manage to escape the curse and finally unravel the source of the mystery that has plagued his family for three generations? Derek Smith was brought up in a small village near Devizes, Wiltshire, England. A lifelong resident of Wiltshire, he remembers bicycling to Stonehenge as a child and playing amongst the stones, which weren't fenced off in those days. Currently he lives with his wife in a small village near Salisbury. Now retired after a career as a general builder, he spends much of his time writing. He also enjoys stone carving, gardening, and taking his dog for walks. Publisher's website: http://sbpra.com/DerekSmith
