The Commoner Queen

There is a tale among the people of a certain village in a certain kingdom of a girl who became known as the commoner queen. Would you like to hear it? It all began with Prince Perseus's search for a bride. He'd shocked many with his decision to choose the next kingdom's queen from among the poor girls of the outlying villages instead of from the crop of foreign princesses who'd been vying for his attention since he was a child. Coriander had been among the prince's many admirers, but as the daughter of a laundress, she was far from a princess. When her mother's health begins to fail, Coriander sees the prince's unorthodox method of selecting a bride as an answer to her prayers, and sets about trying to achieve a better life for herself and her mother the best way she knows how. But with dozens of other girls seeking to exchanged their rags for riches as well, how will Coriander fair in the cutthroat competition to win the prince's heart?
