Parapsychologist and licensed P.I. Elizabeth Chase can "see" details from crime scenes--she even knows the outcomes before they happen--but this time, will Elizabeth's talents be enough to stop a rapist before he moves on to murder?

An increasingly violent rapist has been terrorizing San Diego, but the lack of physical evidence gives the police very little to go on. P.I. Elizabeth Chase is called in for paranormal assistance: astrology, hypnosis, precognitive dreams. lieutenant Marcone would laugh if it wasn't for her impressive credentials and an amazing track record: he's seen enough to know that while Chase's results can't be explained rationally, they could help put an end to a cold-hearted rapist. Right now he needs all the help he can get.

Chase's first step is to hypnotize the victims, hoping to unearth vital information from their subconscious memories. But when her interpretations have devastating results, she tries to back off the case--only to find herself drawing nearer and nearer to the deadly conclusion.
