Vanessa looked up into the sky. There were only a few hours of daylight left. The idea of walking back to the pod in the dark didn't appeal to her. "I guess so."You okay?"She looked at him. "Yes, I'm fine."You sure? You look a little flushed. Here." He pulled out the water bottle from the survival pack and handed it to her. She took a swallow, then handed it back. "Thank you."It's just that you looked like you were going to faint. I've been known to have that affect on women."She rolled her eyes. Faint? Please! More like rip off his pants and jump on him. His pants hung dangerously low on his hips. Trying to keep her eyes from his crotch, she said, "Azurians are used to heat and humidity. And I assure you that the sight of you would not make me faint."He gave her a lopsided grin. "But you're only half."I inherited the half that can deal with the heat and humidity."Too bad. I think I would have had a lot of fun trying to revive you."And she'd have fun letting him. He walked past her, and down another path. "Okay, let's head back."That's not the way we came.
