Charlie Ashanti has helped a pride of lions escape the circus ship and travel by train all the way from Paris to safety in Venice. He has also managed to elude the menacing Rafi and Maccomo for the time being. But in Venice, Charlie discovers that things aren't what they seem. The palace he's been taken to as a safe haven feels suspiciously like a prison. His lions have been separated from him. And if he doesn't find his parents soon, Charlie may lose them forever. Rafi and Maccomo are closing in again, but with the help of a new ally. Charlie finds a way to continue on his journey and discover the truth behind the sinister scheme that's threatening everything he loves.
