Mathematics professor Vanessa Blake had work to do. House-sitting on Cape Cod seemed the ideal opportunity to do it -- until the waves tossed up a very intriguing stranger with a very sprained ankle. President of a sporting goods empire, Luke Spencer lived in a very different world -- and before Vanessa realized it, a simmering attraction had ignited into passion. But a series of robberies interrupted their idyll -- crimes that were a little too close for comfort. Vanessa's hobby was reading palms; Luke's was detecting precious metals.
