The Cabochon Ring

Oxnard and Oxley harbor a dark secret from their sister Kitt, who thinks it’s a lark to travel the countryside and perform acrobatic feats in exchange for coin and shelter. The lives of the three vagabonds change in the blink of an eye, when Ruttgar of Hohenfels and his mount crash through the nearby brush mere seconds ahead of a troupe of soldiers. The brothers only notice the shaft of an arrow protruding from the fleeing man’s shoulder and that fleeting impression brings back memories they would rather forget. Putting aside their misgivings, they pledge to help Ruttgar reclaim his rightful heritage. But their loyalty is put to the test when Kitt falls in love with Ruttgar. That love seems doomed from the start until the discovery of a ruby cabochon ring unravels the past.
