About This Book
Short Story - 6,464 words
Hellfire & Damnation by Connie (Corcoran) Wilson, the book honored by HWA (Horror Writers' Association) members during preliminary Bram Stoker voting in 2011 (placed 7th of 45 short story collections) will have a sequel, entitled Hellfire & Damnation II.
The first book was organized around Dante's Inferno and the 9 Circles of Hell (see reviews and trailer at www.HellfireandDamnationtheBook.com). With an Introduction by William F. Nolan (Logan's Run, Nightworlds), the first collection also featured blurbs from Lisa Manetti, Scott Edelman and Gary Braunbeck.
Each circle of hell in Dante's Inferno represents a different crime, punished within that level of hell, Hellfire & Damnation featured a story or stories focused on those specific crimes.
Hellfire & Damnation has won an IWPA (Illinois Women's Press Association) Silver Feather award, a 2011 E-Lit award and is currently a potential IPPY (Independent Press) winner.
In the 9th Circle of Hell, Treachery, especially against a family member, is punished.
The short story "The Bureau," slated to appear within Hellfire & Damnation II representing the 9th Circle of Hell presents a chilling version of such treachery, directed at one family member by another.
Tim Tepchin sells out his older brother, Tom, but he inadvertently sells himself out in the process.
Enjoy this "sneak preview" (9th Circle of Hell) in the 6, 464 word short story "The Bureau," excerpted from the forthcoming Hellfire & Damnation II---a glimpse into the very darkest regions of man's inhumanity to man.
