On both sides of the border in the 1840's, there were proud, passionate men and women willing to sacrifice their bodies and their souls for the things they believed in. Among these bold, often reckless people was Joel Falconer, a young Texas fire-eater who joins an expedition aiming to conquer New Mexico and break through to Santa Fe.
