Is the Holy Bible actually divine and the literal word of God, or is it actually only the work of men seeking profit and power? THE BOOK chronicles a story where such is the case. A group of Pharisees and Roman senators conspire to conscript the persecuted new religion, Christianity by fabricating testimony of the followers of Jesus of Nazareth, the rouge religion's martyred Messiah. After the Christian Bible is completed, these men introduce their fictionalized Bible to a Christian stronghold in Jerusalem, setting into motion the very foundations of that religion's standardization and legitimizing it for all peoples and all generations to come.
