Lovely Julie Rowan is unaware that her talent as an architect is not the only reason she has been invited to the island chateau of the Lorrain family.

She soon discovers that the Lorrains are very strange, obsessed as they are with being descendants of the Bonapartes.

What disturbs her most, however, is that she seems to be falling in love with Victor Lorrain. And Victor is already married -- to a very jealous woman.
