About This Book

What if the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 had failed to explode? The detonator had never worked prior to the drop, and the mission could easily have been a failure. So, what would have happened to the bomb? After the second strike against Nagasaki-which was a success- the Japanese began to realize what they had in their hands and a battle developed between the Americans, who needed to recover the weapon, the Russians, who wanted to capture the bomb, and the Japanese. This is the first part of this book detailing the events of 1945, as well as the American detailed to investigate the 'top secret' event in 1999. Eventually, and in future parts of the book, the story of the bomb's progress from Japan in 1945 to a terrorist plot to explode it in New York in September 2001 will be told, but fo rnow read the beginning of the story.
